0xc000007b Error Fix
I recently did a fresh install of Win 11 and encountered this issue when I was installing and running Sonic Generations.

This issue occurred on both the ConfigurationTool.exe and on SonicGenerations.exe.

The way I solved it was following the Solution # 2 in this video:

The good thing about this is that the video tells you how to diagnose what the problem is and how to fix it.

In my case, it was the dxdx9_43.dll as it was the one returning the most errors.

I hope this helps other Sonic Generation enjoyers out there that's having the same issue I had.

You might need to reinstall C++ redistributable or .NET, which should usually be installed with the game.
Maybe try the .NET that's linked here

Or try to reinstall the game. I remember having similar issues after a clean windows installation and I had to reinstall the C++ thing.

You should find some solution if you google the error. Be vary of download random .ddl files.

Thanks for the reply but this post is mostly to show how I solved mine rather than asking for a fix. In my case it was a DLL in Directx end user runtimes 2010 rather than C++ Redistributable or .NET.

Most of the solutions I found mostly mentioned deleting config files which didn't really help so when I saw that video that show you how to diagnose it, I figured I might as well share it here since it can help other people with the same issue diagnose their own issues.

The deleting config file thing is a different issue which you will run into if you change your monitor for example (specific to this game).
