Unleashed?
Whats your point? Unleashed is superior. You literally only talk crap about the game just to spite me. No actual concrete, objective criticisms of the game though.
how’s that jank? if unleashed allowed it, all you’d have to do is remap the buttons. i personally prefer the homing attack button in unleashed. also, if you consider downgrading the game and nerfing the gameplay a “fix” and more “polished” then, wow
It's like saying that Frontiers having its own dedicated homing attack button to fix the issues with the double jump from Colours, Lost World and Forces is a "downgrade" when it's an objective improvement giving the player much more control over their jumps and no longer conflicts with the homing attack itself. There's a reason why this carried over in Shadow Generations.
Also, a re-release or remaster or Unleashed could easily fix the homing attack issue without downgrading how it works. The Sonic Generations remaster did exactly that with its Modern control scheme having its homing attack (X) on a separate button from the jump (A) and the boost also having its own button (RT) much like how Frontiers' controls work.
And one of the first mods released afterwards is to change the controls and physics of the game.
If a future game were to downgrade to Unleashed physics, all you'd hear are complaints about how much worse it is to move than Shadow Generations (the best boost controls by far).
Thats not even just an assumption, cause its easy to find people playing Sonic's Generations side and noticing how poor the turning controls are there compared to Shadow's side. And Sonic Generations was already a big improvement over Unleashed controls.
your idea of polish, just like NBOX , is dumbing down the game removing the physics and speed instead of just improving at the game. Why does a game need to control like stiff stick figures with no freedom of movement to be considered polished?
Sonic’s gameplay has always been about momentum and “loose” controls for lack of better word
That's why the HUB areas feel awkward with the loose controls, and why most sections with tight platforming are limited to 2D or the werehog as the control isn't impacted nearly as much there.
Regarding "my idea of polish", that's just simply not true at all. Playing Colours, Lost World and Forces, I've had so many instances of wanting to reach a higher platform with a double jump only to homing attack an enemy in the distance instead as both actions are tied to the same button. Playing Frontiers and Shadow Gens, I never had this problem as the homing attack got its own button and felt much better to play because of it.
Similarly, playing Unleashed on PS3, I've had several instances of just wanting to homing attack an enemy in front of me, only to air boost right off the stage instead as both actions are tied to the same button, which wasn't even a problem on the PS2/Wii versions where both actions were on different buttons.
(The PS2/Wii versions did downgrade the boost compared to the PS3/360 versions, but for completely different reasons that have nothing to do with button mapping)
