I had the same problem. You have to go to Wettingham and talk to the old guy in front of the item shop. You might have to upgrade the shop to lvl 5. The old guy will say that he is the mayor. Keep talking to him and eventually he will tell you about a prophecy. Then you can get the info from the fairy.

Also, just a quick tip: You might want to make sure you have the weird scrolls as you near the end.

I thought those weird scrolls were for the bosses for the random dungeons, making them easier to beat the next time we decide to venture down there again....so would serve no purpose for anything story related?
