PROBLEM SOLVED:
Function can be toggled in options -> Improved deadzoning for movement
Thank you for responding to this devs!
The analog stick doesnt register as 'down' for standing still.
Both the analog and dpad buttons works fine on skills but when holding the analog stick down when walking it seems it hasnt been mapped to a true 'down' position, it will start register walking either left or right. Both Trine 1 and 2 had a 'stop walking on down' press, so I'm not sure if its a bug, if its not programmed in or am I missing the option but I thought I'd let you know it would be nice to have. Thank you for the response.
(That said so far I'm loving the game, and congrats on the launch. Trine 2 in stereoscopic 3d is still one of my favourite games to couch co-op)

Sure, Tridef is not the business of Frozenbyte but i would enjoy to play Trine 4 again in 3D.
Judging by the error code it looks like the issue is with DirectX 11 drivers, so try checking if there is an update available and install it if there is. If that doesn't work there's unfortunately not much else we can do as Trine 4 doesn't have official 3D support, sadly.

After finishing encounter with enemies, there appears to be second health bar underneath character that won't go away. I have also observed that option to always display health bars in upper left corner doesn't work anymore. These two glitches might be connected.

Actually this was a design decision, and the separate gameplay options menu option "Use improved deadzoning for movement" will prevent analog stick down/up from moving character left/right.
