The GUI is lacking some important info
Hello,

I thang the GUI is lacking some important information, the first being a Speed Gauge.

When i first played the game last year, it was already like that, but i'm sad to see it's not improved.

What i call a speed gauge would be something like a vertical indicator to show the power of my trusters, to know when it's "0" (middle of the indicator), when it's at max (top part of it) and when i'm going backward (below zero).

As it is now, i very often don't stop clean, but instead i have to move a little with my joystick trottle until i find the "zero" point, or use the key shorcut to stop, but i'd prefer to ave this "speed gauge" onscreen.

Hi Tchey, good to se you back !

Unlike most of sci-fi games or movies, Helium Rain use a realistic Newtonian flight model, meaning there is no maximum speed, no atmosphere to slow you down, and no change in velocity if engines aren't active.

In such a model, engines only start when the pilot desires a change of velocity, and they don't really throttle - each of your 20-30 thrusters are on or off, depending on whether that particular thruster can help put the ship on the desired attitude. Real-life thrusters have zero throttle capability either. As a result, a gauge showing the power of your thrusters wouldn't work at all - it would be a massive panel of 30 power indicators showing which thruster is active.

The important indicators in Helium Rain are the forward vector guide (circle) and speed indicator (m/s number). If you are aligned to the forward vector, the forward/backward keys will thrust in either direction, at full power, to slow down or accelerate.

I hope this is helpful !
