Plans for VR support?
VR support works so pretty well for cockpit-based games (see Elite:Dangerous, nobody wants to play it on the screen after once v-really sitting in their own cockpit), yet it needs to be planned early in the dev cycle. There are some things to consider right from the start: While graphically and API-wise adding VR support is not a big thing, you need a complete cockpit to sit in and look around, then add head-tracking support including the head position, and most importantly a controller and UI concept that fits into it. The UI concept is nothing to postpone to later, as it will simply become extremely hard to build VR on top of something not well thought about. So, are there any concrete plans to go for VR later on, despite the common attitude of "we will most certainly take a look into it somewhen, but right now there is more important things to do" (which basically means "no, it won't ever happen, as we certainly will find out that the whole UI won't fit")?

Hi there !

We try to always be as clear and honest as we possibly can. VR support won't happen in Helium Rain. It's not part of the design and was eliminated early in the development process, years ago. It's a common request, but the game is mostly about trading and features lots of menus - not exactly VR friendly.

I like that you are honest about that and clearly communicate even unpopular decisions. Yet, I wish someone would care about more VR-friendly UI design patterns. I personally think that Frontier did a great job with E:D's interface design, as also "flatworld" players benefit from the immersion that the in-ship holographic displays bring. But I respect your clear decision to go another direction.
