Docking tutorial has stricter reqs than docking
I just installed this game about 5 seconds ago and went into the tutorial, but when I got to the part where it wants me to dock with a mine, I managed to dock with it while the game was still telling me to roll to correct the alignment. Undocking and trying again fixes it but it hasn't told you how to undock yet at that point which defeats the purpose a bit.

On the plus side I now know two different ways to undock, so that's nice.

This is a pretty good point. The reason for this is, we wanted to explain the full procedure. The starter ship, and small ships in general, are easy to dock so it's possible to dock whithout completing the tutorial, but I still think the tutorial needs to be completed because larger ships will often require the roll alignment procedure.

Might be better if it would say as much then, and explain how to undock and try again. Having to click through the menus until I see one with undock in order to repeat it and progress feels like I've broken it.

I ran into the same issue. I still don't understand how to dock properly. I don't understand what lateral alignment and all of that is. Ultimately I gave up and got the auto-docking.

Perhaps showing how the alignment circles should look like for the correct alignment during docking atempts would help a bit by displaying a reference.

I'm not a great Paint artist, this is the best I could do for ya :D

After you get the hang of it you'll likely find it fun to dock manualy
