A Few Bugs In Skirmish Mode
1) There are some weird things happening with who "wins" a Skirmish. I just pitted 6 Orcas against an enemy Anubis...we took him down pretty quickly, but he took out one of ours first... So 1 kill for each team, and even though WE eliminated all enemies it still said "Battle Lost"

2) I had a HUGE battle of maybe 40 v 40 Ghosts, and after 6 minutes, even though it was still raging, the Skirmish just ended for some reason.

3) Tapping F INSTANTLY crashes the game in Skirmish mode. (haven't tested too many other keys, but this one is kinda a biggie.

4) It seemed .... odd to me, that 4 Orcas with Hammer cannons can Destroy an Anubis in one pass... Yet when I battle Anubis vs. Anubis they can hammer on eachother with their MASSIVE deck cannons for minutes on end with little result. I mean, I did the same thing, but with all the Orcas loaded with Large Guided Torpedoes (you only get 2 shots per mount these Torpedoes are so big!), and it took MUCH longer to win, and supposedly that's exactly the type of target that weapon was designed for! If I had just used Hammer cannons I could have killed it much faster and had ammo to spare for other enemies! (Also, in game the torpedoes cost SO MUCH to re-arm, when compared to Hammer Cannons, so I'm a bit confused why they're less effective)

I'm starting to think I might be able to solo an Anubis using just an Orca or Ghost with a little patience...

TL/DR: Hammer cannons might need a HUGE nerf.

We've already fixed the F key bug - hotfix will be out for this soon.

As you've seen, the balancing has been changed a lot, so some weapons might have unforeseen power now. The Hammer were pretty useless before, but you shouldn't be able to take an Anubis down that fast indeed.

The winning conditions are a more complicated topic. Basically, if one side ends up with no capable ship (no ammo left, or incapacitated etc), then the game ends. If you eliminated all enemies completely, you should definitely have won. I'll take a look.

We've released a hotfix to prevent crashes while pressing the F key, and a small balance change on the Hammer gun.

Not sure if the Hammer Cannons are too strong, or if the Anubis turrets just need more HP, or if it's something else entirely...but I just recorded this video of 4 Orcas vs. 1 Anubis and it only lasted like 30 seconds. https://youtu.be/64p6AlyF2tA

You'll also notice that for some reason after killing the Anubis, when the battle ends I've "lost".

Knowing the cost and production time of an Anubis...it really shouldn't go down that fast. As it is, it will only be good for auto-resolved battles that the player is not at (due to its high combat points meaning victory is more likely) but now I'm worried about taking one into a battle I'm in because it might die to just a few fighters.

I noticed you equipped the Anubis with Ares turrets - they're heavy anti-ship weapons, designed for taking out destroyers. They are pretty much useless against fighters. From my testing, an Anubis equipped with Artemis turrets can handle an equivalent combat value of Orcas with Hammers.

We might nerf the Hammer again, but the idea is definitely to have powerful options with fighters, not just gun fodder. We don't want people to think of any ship as irrelevant as a player ship. Orcas are great bombers, they're meant to excel at engaging larger ships.

I guess my test was to put the most expensive turrets on the Anubis, assuming giant Anti-captial ship Deck cannons would have more HP (and not all be destroyed within 15 seconds), but they still get taken out so fast.

Edit. Just did a battle with the Anubis with Artemis turrets vs 6 Orcas. Same result. The Anubis's guns get taken out so quickly it's not even a fair fight. He didn't kill or even disable a single Orca. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=niMcwyQSsJc

I'm confident a Hades-loaded Anubis would fare very well against four Orcas. But please, do bring the tests ! We're not 100% sure ourselves what's the most interesting weapon balance, and we love the feedback.

One of our regular discussion points is about the duration of battles. In this update, we went for a better balance of small and heavy ships, and less black-and-white weapon types. The Artemis can effectively damage heavy ships now, for example. But we still have pretty short battles - we don't want them too long, but I think we should make them longer. The problem with longer battles is that it tends to make more powerful ships an obvious option, because fighters loose their speed & surprise advantages.

We completely welcome all feedback on balance :)
