Phalanx Has Extreme Difficulty Braking
Even with fully upgraded Thrusters, a single second of forward thrust takes like 5 seconds of braking. Unless the player taps X to fully flip and then burn in reverse with main engine, it's almost impossible to brake using this ship.

The AI even has difficulty sometimes trying to dock with stations, and very often this ship will trigger the "your ship left the sector" notification because it did a firing pass on a disabled ship but never turned around for a 2nd.

How fast do you go ?

At 200 m/s it take about 20 s to brake, but it's easy to avoid leaving system.
You don't have speed limit in Helium Rain, you have the responsibility to moderate your velocity according to your ship (and Phalanx is a pretty heavy fighter).

When I fight, I try to avoid reach a lot more than 200 m/s : your can fire more often and help your wing men easier when you don't take 1 min to go back to fight !

Oh I know, I don't often go faster than whatever autopilot wants to land me at, but the MAIN reason I don't use a Phalanx as my Player ship is because of this braking issue. The Orca brakes WAAAY better, and accelerates quicker too. That one extra turret on the Phalanx seems to double the mass (estimate)

I made this post immediately after watching my Phalanx (in my player fleet, equipped with Harpoons) do an attack run to harpoon a disabled ship, then proceed to not even TRY to turn around for another pass. It was nearly out of the sector when I finally hit N to take it over myself.
