My own project is playable in a very early stage, though much of the final design is still to be defined. At a glance, you could describe it as an exploration & crafting game focused on cooperative multiplayer. I initially wanted to release the game this year, but it's clearly not ready to be showned yet - hopefully a prototype can be presented later in 2020 !
As to Niavok, his new project is a 2D sanddbox game where the goal is to build machines. The game relies on an advanced physics simulation engine, featuring thermal / fluid / chemical / neutron simulation, allowing the player to experiment with a lot of industrial designs. For example, you should be able to build a blast furnace, a refinery, cryoplant, thermal / hydro / nuclear power plants, etc. Development is ongoing on the physics engine, and it's fair to say this isn't close to release.
That's it for now. As you might know, game development rarely runs in straight lines - though it usually ends up somewhere eventually. We'll keep you updated !
