Stuck at loading screen
I played this game yesterday and it ran flawlessly, loading times were quite quick. I reached Flagstone and played a bit of that mission. Today I'm trying to continue the game but the game is stuck at loading for several minutes now.

It doesn't seem to be my save games, since it also does the same on the mission select. I tried loading previous missions and it still does the same. It's loads about 50% and then stays there.

I'm playing the linux version on Debian Sid.

It's very dissapointing as I was enjoying the game a lot.

I have the same problem. I was able to play a bit this morning, but now every mission gets stuck when loading. (using Arch in my case)

I can't even seem to get to the logo screens. whole thing just locks up still showing the desktop but with the game's mouse cursor. I have to kill it with the system monitor. Kubuntu 21.10.

I did find that if I quit steam and then relaunch it through the terminal the game seems to be happy to load. Not sure what's going on with that.

Ah, sadly I can not refund it anymore.

I was able to continue playing by installing Windows version of the game + latest version of https://github.com/GloriousEggroll/proton-ge-custom

Builtin Proton mostly worked but tutorial objects were missing video.

In my case it started working again a few days later without any changes. Really strange...

I might get it again on a sale if that is the case, the few levels I played were good.

Same problem here.
Second day playing and Flagstone mission (3rd) doesn't load.
Any solution? I'm playing in Ubuntu 22.04

I'm using LinuxMint 21, just did a kernel update (not sure if related or not) and I am also stuck on the loading screen. Might also have to refund.

Addendum to my post.

I just left it on the loading screen while looking for a fix and eventually it did fully load.

Found a solution. After I launch the game, instead of clicking "Continue" on main menu, try either the Load menu or the select mission. These measures won't take you back to exactly where you left off. But once you are inside the mission you then you can hit the quick load button and there you are back again.

Thanks, I solved this problem just by selecting the second save instead of the first one in the Load menu.:carto_snowman:

my solution is this:

I used proton instead of the native linux version.
Then i went and selected the save from the load screen instead of the continue button and you shall not choose quicksave.
