Damn, I'm not even at two hours and thought I was good!
The jumping is pretty nuanced, once you master it you can get super consistent with it.
Don't just brute force it unless you're trying to jump extremely far/up, at which point any nuance gets thrown out the window and it gets hard to jump accurately/consistently.
Agreed. I'd suggest to anyone who hasn't done it already, hold down the triggers and do a very slow moving jump motion. Feel what your body is doing in relation to the world and make sure you understand how the jumping mechanism actually works.
At that point you should start to be able to do some pretty neat things. Moving slowly into your jump instead of flinging should let you do some pretty precise moves, and if you get the motion down you can really flick your wrists hard to get some major air time.
I'm only 5'6 so I sometimes use the jump motion like a boost to get me up to higher places. Reach as high as you can, push the triggers and pull yourself up, then quickly let go and grab the surface. Of course you can always just jump, but this allows for more precise movements.
Anyways, as you can tell I'm pretty pumped about this game. I've always liked that VR games include some aspect of physical prowess or athletic ability to do things, and this one really brings that out.
also i tried the past 10 hours to make big jumps but barely do more than a normal jump!
any help? im struggling xD
For me this was because I was flicking my wrist at the last second, changing the jump direction. Try releasing the jump a good half second before you think you need to, it feels weird, but gets you going in the right direction.
Big jumps happen when you learn to flick your wrists (which gets your hands moving really fast) but still direct yourself in the right direction.
