Climbey crashes at start [SOLVED]
I currently own a oculus rift and after the halloween update I could not play climbey at all as it would crash at start, after opting to the beta input I had the same problem but sometimes the game wouldn't crash until I hit a button. I know this is very vauge so I will anwser any and all questions of course if you need futher details to help, any feedback is very much appreciated even if you have no clue just guesses.

Brian already gave you a fix. Go on the steamvr beta and if that doesn't work reinstall the game. Also don't say he "scammed" you, the game has a bug that isn't under his control. You have 69 hours, which is WAY over the hour refund limit for steam.

Okay, so, the fix that was released didn't solve my problem. nor did opting to any beta, I have reinstalled the game 3 times now, the third being right now. also there is nothing I can opt to in climbey. just checked right before posting this to be sure.

actually hold on, I'm going to restart my pc then check again to be 100% no doubt. will tell you if that did anything.

You don't opt into a beta for Climbey, you opt into a beta for SteamVR, which is under "tools" in your library like this: https://puu.sh/BY3Tu/cdc3b6e5ff.png

Then you find SteamVR there, right click it, hit properties, betas, and select the "beta - SteamVR beta update" branch from the dropdown.

I know it's super inconvenient, I've been trying to get Valve to put the fix in the non-beta branch for a while now but they're too busy not doing that...

nah nah man listen you've been more than helpful. did way more for me than I have earned. I'm starting to see how the anwser was kinda in front of me all along sorta.. ya know... my ignorance on steam and stuff actaully makes me furstrated along with you so sorry for being a HUGE pain. and THANK YOU for the tolerance and all.
