You can hit clear progress on the wall infront of you when you first start the game, that should make you start at level 1 if you hit start on your wrist menu.

Make sure the "robot" button is lit up green, that ensures the tutorial bot is enabled and gives his explanation of things. :)

Alternately you can set the launch options in steam to -demomode which will start the game in level 1 with the tutorial enabled right as you start the game, though it does require you to disable it again if you want to play normally/in multiplayer.
