I... what? All it does is grab your steam username, if you saw your real name in a server it might've been someone else's steam username. Your first name isn't unique to you.

thats the thing. i have a 13 letter arabic name that IS unique to me.

I went and joined a different server and as I'm loading in I see a checkpoint flag which 100% has my real first name above. Which again is unique. It has to be getting it from somewhere and I have no clue why or how. Also after looking around a bit, I've realized that my skype uses my first name... but that is literally it. Is there any way to change my in game username?

Huh. Interesting. But I'm really not pulling your name from anywhere but steam, not doing anything crazy. Ask other folks if they can see that name or if they see Shadow, which is what your steam username is for me. Weird though!

Found out somewhat what happened. Though I'm still confused... for another game that was pirated I was running a steam emulator. It seems to have seeped into Climbey while I had it running in the background. When I closed it and restarted my name was what it should've been. Still have no clue how the emulator got my name though.

I went into its settings and it said it was using account name. Maybe it was referring to MS account name? Idk. I just stopped launching the other game through it and now I'm fine.

Shadow, If you are going on a online server which steam is global it is highly possible someone in the world has the same name as you. Also the Developer has no reason to have peoples names in game.

No it is impossible because there is no one else in the world with my name. At least not on facebook or steam as far as I can tell. That is not what happened though. Read previous comments.
