Edit: I forgot to invite you to Once Human. Let's see who's good at games, shall we? It's free. Show me you can manage. Because I don't think you can.
I've not been on this discussion forum since I started playing Once Human. But after the most recent update I thought I'd let you all know there is an alternative for people who'd love to play a game like Scum, that actually works.
Boss fights? Nope. World bosses? Nope. Well, there's one. Immortal. Cool! Instances with various difficulty levels? Nope. Areas with increased difficulty, so you need to think and prepare (and *learn*) before venturing forth? Nope. Every mob is the same, no matter where you parachute in on an island that has, what, 4 different environments? With a handful of POI's that are basically identical everywhere. Elite enemies? Nope. Tower defence? Nope. I could go on.
Scum is recreational. Laid back, chilled, easy peasy, stealing candy from a baby.
You need to 'get' Scum? Get that there's no story? At all? Get that you die from your own coffee because a dropship had to be introduced out of nowhere? Get that your car (and the loot in it) drops through the world? Now some cars are back, that is. Oh I could go on forever. And forever.
I get you, though, brother. You don't have the guts to pop into a free game to see what's what. And if you could even survive there, let alone flourish. You're stuck in the safety of a bug infested bubble you have finally have learned to navigate and hell will freeze over before you venture forth and play an actual challenging game. That has novice servers for new players, because otherwise the experience would be too overwhelming. You need to learn the ropes before going into a 'normal' server (there's various scenarios, some PvE, some PvP) where you for instance will be getting raided by three waves of mobs, with an elite in the final one, if you chop down a tree at the wrong time of day. The time of day your sanity (and health) has dropped to 30% because, oh, wait, there's a story too, and you picked the server that provided it.
I mean, come on, prove me wrong. It's free you know. You can choose to support the game (which I eventually did) by purchasing purely cosmetics that are in no way required, it's not pay to win. And I know this, because I have played it on two accounts, one with purchase, the other without, to check if it made a difference. Me, I try things out. You? You 'get' Scum.
So nothing but your lack of courage makes you defend Scum (by attacking me), without knowledge of Once Human, while I have hundreds of hours in both.
I do get it. I actually know. You, you jump into fanboy defence mode on autopilot. I get you buddy. Stay safe out there. I know you will.
Deleted it due to bugs!
Oh and by your own admission full of bugs!
Crashing to desktop, characters not logging out.
Yeah that really sounds like a game I want to invest time in!

the weirdest crash to desktop
yesterday I played, today I crash to desktop (to reboot even). But I have two accounts. So I tried it with my other account. And it plays. But even stranger, my alt is standing there in my base. It seems it never logged out of the game. I logged out of steam fine, or I couldn't play it, but how in hells name do I solve this? How do I 'force' my alt to log out of the game? Shouldn't there be an auto disconnect if you're inactive for a certain amount of time? Why is one account crashing and the other not? That means there's nothing wrong with the installation. I started a new scenario and got the char to 14, so that shouldn't be the issue either. All characters crash. On one account only. I'm at a loss.
SCUM is a sweet huckleberry I've had in my fridge since 2018. Plus it taught me how to use protein properly. I'm gonna stick with the app you buy up-front. See you're buyin' something.
Let's just pretend it's fungible, like $20. Two cappuccinos.
You get something for it.
When a game *doesn't* charge you, shouldn't that trip your alarms? What are they taking from you? Are they selling your data to the Croatians?
A poast that defensive and long means you think you're not the credulous type.
It was my GPU. One fan didn't report. It's running like a charm.
I see. You need a game to teach you about proteins. I went to school.
Where do you get your coffee? And what does that tell me about your decision making capacities? For me that's close to six pints. In the pub.
You get something for it.
You mean the Chinese? But you have a point. So you're not using Facebook, Twitter, Tiktok, etc, etc?
Indeed, I'm not. Credulous: having or showing too great a readiness to believe things.
Evidently, you are though.
We run servers for many games:
Scum, Deadside, The Front, 7dtd, Conan Exiles, Arma Reforger to name a few.
5 of us, all admins, all bought once human and tried it.
Not one of us is now playing it!

POSTED: APRIL 25
Every update introduces more bugs and makes the game progressively harder to play for someone that cant spend every day of the week on it. (NOT EVERYONE IS UNEMPLOYED) Now to top off the other bugs and difficulties, my territory is removed overnight and has to be rebuilt. The whole late game is based on farming acid and that cant be done if your territory gets removed. Yes that's supposed to happen after 7 days. First time it was after 2 days. I rebuilt it last night and now its gone again today.
