If an item boss Magichanges the kill doesn't count

I was just in an item where the Item General spawned as a dragon which then Magichanged with a random archer. I killed the pair and everything in the level, but it didn't count as me killing the Item General. Thankfully the item wasn't something I really cared about so I didn't miss out on much.

If you can't get credit for killing a Magichanged item boss then they shouldn't be able to Magichange in the first place.

That's how it was on the PSP, too. And really, the only time it's a problem is well before you should care about the stat boost from the boss kill. By the time you try to perfect items, you should be able to kill any boss before they get a chance to do anything.
