Text boxes and Opening not appearing?!

I'm playing on a mac and when it gets to the opening you can hear the song but the screen is completely black then when you talk with people and you hear the audio but there are not text boxes beneth that just the characters portraits that are cut off from where the text box should be. Is this only me or are some people having the same problem.

Does your Mac have an NVIDIA 8xxx/9xxx/1xx/2xx/3xx/4xx video card/chip? This is currently a known issue with those on Windows, but it might be a Mac thing too. From what I've seen the devs are looking into that right now, if that's your issue.

It has a NVIDIA GeForce GT 120 256 MBif that helps at all

The GT120 is a rebranded 9500GT, so that makes sense. I'll add it to the list -- did not actually know that a 1xx series existed, but it's apparently a rare-ish OEM series. Hope it'll be fixed soon!

I have a question, is it possible to still play the game even without text boxes? I mean, you can still see the menus and combat UI, is it worth trying anyway?

Mandrakon,the battles work perfectly fine and the game is 100% beatable and completable.The downside is,you cannot experience the story and the lack of text can make things confusing.For me is unplayable,but for someone who already knows all the story and text it's just a mild anoyance,In fact a played for a bit and it worked pretty well,looking at the cutcenes online,but it got tiedious.In short,YES
