I'm having the same issue. Coversations won't show up as text, the intro movie is just a black screen, screen transitions are ugly and not polished at all, effects shown in conversations against a static background don't show up at all, the text boxes for conversation without voice acting has the same issue as the voiced conversations...ugh. That's a huge list of problems and unless this is fixed, I'm not playing this game. This is worse than Disgaea 1 PC.

It's better to post your pc spec here, no one can help without that I think.

Still hasn't been fixed. The issue occurs for users with any of the older nVidia cards (which is a lot, it turns out). I was able to resolve it by downloading new drivers from nVidia. However, I haven't seen that suggested as a solution so I guess it doesn't work for everyone.
