And unless you reinstalled the game or added some weird mods , there i no reason to have it do that.
tl:dr it's most likely something you did.
The slurs impact yourself more than any other brief interactions with other ppl that might get offended, so technically it only shows how horrible of a person you really are.
It’s less about offending others and more about showcasing your own lack of character.
That's all.
Fragile peoples delicate feelings are their problem.
To Americans, a Yankee is a Northerner.
To northerners, a Yankee is an Easterner.
To easterners, a Yankee is an New Englander.
To New Englanders, a Yankee is a Vermonter.
And in Vermont, a Yankee is somebody who eats pie for breakfast.
Calling a hate group “friends” is certainly… one way to avoid acknowledging loneliness.
Using slurs isn’t “free speech absolutism”. It’s what people do when they’re so starved for human interaction that any attention, even disgust, feels like validation.
Without trying to offend strangers, no one would even notice you exist.
Well… except your little circle of equally charming "friends", I suppose.
+1 👍🏻
Musk called himself a free speech absolutist and then started censoring people on Twitter who didn't agree with him. So that specific term has a very bad taste to it anyway.
Free Speech always has to be about respect. The right to "Free Speech" is meant to actually SPEAK about issues in order to resolve them. And YES, that includes having to be able to say things other people won't like - even things that offend people (which isn't hard since in today's world some people live to get offended in order to play the victim.)
But if you intentionally degrade people (which slurs do), if you tell lies about people and events, or if you incite harmful behaviour, it's no longer respectful and definitely not about solving issues. Thus it's not covered by free speech.
Or put another way:
of course you can say whatever you want, just be prepared that there might be consequences. Like going into a biker bar in Alabama at 2 a.m. on a Saturday and calling the guys a bunch of sissies. You can do that - even legally - but I guess the outcome won't be too pleasant.
But of course if you don't have to face consequences because it's the internet, it's easy to be a self-proclaimed "free speech absolutist" 😂
And in ww2 era movies allied soldiers not from US, always calls them that.
Had to ask the ai about that. Gave me this.
The term "Yankee" isn't inherently a slur, but its meaning and tone can shift depending on context, geography, and intent.
🇺🇸 What does "Yankee" mean?
In the U.S.: Traditionally refers to people from the Northeastern states, especially New England. Southerners historically used it during the Civil War to describe Union soldiers, often with a negative connotation.
Outside the U.S.: In places like the UK, Australia, or South Africa, "Yank" or "Yankee" is often used to describe any American. It can be neutral, affectionate, or mildly mocking depending on tone.
😬 Is it offensive?
Not usually: Most Americans don't find it offensive, especially in casual or historical contexts.
Can be pejorative: In certain settings—like if said with disdain or in a derogatory tone—it might be taken as dismissive or mocking.
Rarely used formally: It's not common in professional or workplace settings, where it might feel outdated or inappropriate.
So, it's not a slur in the traditional sense, but like many labels, it can carry baggage depending on who's saying it and why. Want to dive into other regional nicknames or historical terms?
Nicknames are not evil.
When i call my wife honey, she is not angry at me for comparing her with sticky sugar oversaturated slime. Yes! You can find offense in anything when you look for it, it is very easy to do, that is why its mostly simpletons who play this game
crybabies like you all is what is wrong in the world. Not people saying words that are no no words for sheltered crybabies
the meaning is cockney slang for "yank" is "septic tank" , and further shortened to just "septic"
