Monthly costs land monthly. You have only minimal monthly income to offset it. Export income, which is the bulk of your profit only comes in by freighter and depends on freighter speed how frequently that will take place.
But also note that if you have buy orders, you're also spending money to buy incoming imports at the same time as you're exporting with each frieghter.
There's no way for any of us to guess your expenses, it's all shown in your almanac and across your trade agreements.
But doesn't seems the almanac showing my expenses too. I'll explain:
My monthly expenses are always like 4k every month. Way more than the income. I try reduce expenses, lower the transport office payments and firing all the ministers (both are the highes expenses according to the almanac) Then i tear down some houses and the minister buinding because expenses are still 4k every month. After reduce farmers and houses mantainment too, the monthly expenses are like 3.5k. No sense.
Now talking to my trade income: i go negative every time before ship arrive and then only in negative because even if i sell more products including gold, cigars, coal, fish and others, i don't even reach the 10k every ship. I don't understand why in the prevvious missions i was able to find new merch to sell, but in this is always too much low income, consider i also have the customhouse 5% bonus.
Last one, fertilizers are useful? Bcs even if i have ranch that products fertilize, the fertilizers storage is always empty, and even if i built 8 of them around farms, land efficient became always more low.
First, shut down the buildings that cater to the rich or require college educated workers, since you don't have enough to make it worthwhile: bank, opera house, customs office, immigration office, college, maybe a mansion or two. The ministry can go either way. I usually keep it because that 7% bonus on top of max budgets is pretty nice.
Second, get the economy going. Farms for food variety and export. Logs --> planks --> boats. Cattle --> leather. Set the ranches to Pasture Prohibition to get that manure for your spreaders. Research Employee of the Month once you get some industry going.
I usually play this scenario for at least two elections before I move into the Cold War era.
Ok sorry for the short answer but i missed the previous writing. I'll try follow your tips. I suppose you mean boat costruction, it helped me in the second missionm too so must be really profitable. If instead of set the cattle on Pasture prohibition i do the naturale fertilize upgrade, it provide the same amounth of fertilizer?
It says it produces "as if it were running Pasture Prohibition" so I've always assumed so. But I go with Pasture Prohibition because it doesn't degrade the soil.
Yeah i suppose it's convenient for the ranch itself. Another thing is i was used to change the golf camp set on golf club but the maintain payment is still higher than the income i guess
