As you can see OP, you don't have to meet the recommended level.
I don't mind learning patterns, actually I like doing it. I enjoyed learning Arleccino in Lies of P solo, and parrying Radan in the Shadows of the Erd Tree.
I leared Date Shigezane and killed him with no hits, but Date Masamune...he just s**t the arena with water, 3 shots and then another 3 shots so you have nowhere to dodge. And then he keeps spamming his distance magic, I literally have nowhere to dodge and not enough stamina to block all his attacks. He don't even try to attack normally so I could parry him. I know that slowing him down is good startegy, but I want to beat him simply one on one with swords only
If you only want to use the sword, then it will take a little longer to cancel his Living Weapon.
Shots to the head could speed up the process. Jin's Sake could help with the water damage. 👍🏽
1. utilize the post of the room to block his range attack
2. while he is in his living weapon mode, don't get close to him, keep running around, wait for the right time to run to his back, attack 1-2 times, and then run again
3. try to deplete his ki faster in high stance attack, use the combat skill and switch to other stances
4. save your living weapon and activate it when his ki is fully depleted
* i took some screenshots, check it out if you like.
