I bought the DLC
I got the DLC on the sale I felt a bit pressured before the game gets removed but I got them all for £10 which I think was okay.

I have enjoyed it so far, I got a lot of hours more on the game that I enjoy. I have been doing making the map green and doing the atmosphere stuff, I built a capital city. One of the most useful things is the mini medical and security towers which gives a bit more space to work with on the basic domes.

I havent tried using trains at all and I havent made a colony underground yet. I assume the bugs are with those. Ive explored a bit with RC explorers and lit up some of the corridors with lights, I build a couple of wonders and as for the domes underground im going to do that soon.

I have been doing a bit of asteroid hopping which has worked out okay so far, no crashes or anything, I heard that maybe its when the asteroid is over developed that this occurs.

Overall I am happy that I got the DLC package. What do you guys think?

I have noticed a thing where recon centers no longer allow me to scan an asteroid even though it looks like there is 20 electronics stored there.
kaki_gamet 10 月 28 日 下午 7:11
Too many things to say about, and yet not enough time spent with it : /
I didn't find B&B to cause any particular harm, it is in between shallow and unbalanced.

About the Recon Center, were you trying to scan the same asteroid a second time?
Rich-UK 10 月 28 日 下午 8:50
i scanned a bunch of asteroids fine then all of a sudden it was like i didnt have enough electronics in place.

please tell me about. i know theres a lot to say but id like to know.

i mainly got the DLC to hit the achievements. i havent built any domes below like i mentioned and i know some people have problems with trains which i just didnt build at all.

let me know im in the middle of a 150 days colony. it could help me. im saving a lot during my progress.

There are cave-ins, each cave-in generates 10 rubble, each rubble can be turned into 50 waste rocks. A Dozer can carry 100 waste rocks BUT it first crumble a rubble into five piles of 10 waste rocks each, that have to be collected manually one by one BECAUSE the dozer doesn't even have a transport route available (a feature that a simple transport has) -.-

I guess I was better going with a commander and two transports, but if you don't have any OCD then you should be fine to leave the waste rocks all around, grab the anomalies then leave. And this bring to the next step, developing the underground.

Because of cave-ins one needs those struts, and although the building cost is not much in the end, it is the maintenance cost that skyrockets, 4 metals each, so one cover just a small part of it (from elevator until wonders) or find an alternative to a logistic nightmare (like I placed two scrubbers and a stirling at each strut).

Moving around in the underground is not easy also, too many turns so one can rely on fast moving shuttles (maybe it is not by chance that I found water next to the elevator) or trying to build a winding train track. I made one to connect the elevator with three domes at the Cave of Wonders, took some 600 concrete (all made with waste rocks from rubble) and several Sols before drones completed it.

Trains can shuttle colonists finely, resources is a bit more complicated matter, for now I'm still skipping on that part by turning off all listed resources. But as with passages, there is the case in which colonists will commute through trains instead to relocate to a new dome, in that case I had to turn off the stations and wait for a while until shuttles returned quiet (means that all colonists moved between domes).

Underground basic domes, they can apparently host a spire but it is actually tied to a specific wonder, still the description just hint one can place a spire there.

Elevator and how it moves things up/down. The logic is to set the minimum amount underground wise, so if set to have 10 metal below it will check the whole underground, and if there are already more than 10 metal will request nothing to the surface. It is an odd way to make it works, more simple was drop below 10 metal and clear the request once is fulfilled. It took a while to understand it, and it is even worse with prefabs.

Order 4 stirling, get them immediately, but as soon as use one a new one is requested from surface. So one has to edit the request immediately after to avoid getting more prefabs than needed. And not to mention that not every prefab can be shipped through. I got a story bit that rewarded me with three underground basic domes, unfortunately those got "shipped" to the surface, but there they cannot be placed, and no one ever considered the case that surface and below can trade domes, so are not in the list of prefab that can be shipped below. In other words the event's reward is completely unusable : /

Yet about prefabs, there is an end-game tech that allows to turn almost everything back into a prefab, at the cost of forfeiting any upgrade. But something as simple as a large storage doesn't have the option, a landing pad can be refabbed but a storage not. And because of losing the upgrades, most of the time it is more convenient to demolish the existing building and build it again in a different place (but it is again OCD in action here).

Terraforming that doesn't remove dust devils, nor dust geysers, and the spike in brightness when reaching 50% atmosphere (blue skies). Not to mention those expeditions that sacrifice a rocket, all completely unneeded : /

I'm not allowing rival colonies yet, but got an event that adds one and so far the trade is nothing worth bothering with. But Global Support breakthrough is great, unfortunately it is tied to B&B, cannot have it available without to have the underground entrances as far as I know. I will later check if by turning it off with game rules leave the breakthroughs around, although I doubt it.

And likely more, now is your turn to vent : D

maybe ill try the trains on my next colony and try to get some people living underground i also havent really tried putting people on an asteroid either ive just been mining them with drones and flying the resources back to mars
kaki_gamet 10 月 29 日 下午 7:50
You already got more achievements than I, you will be done in a moment ; )
Rich-UK 10 月 29 日 下午 9:05
12 left to get, I havent got any mods i just play vanilla. Some of the ones I have left are going to take a while. The colony I just had was an easy one and the breakthroughs were really good, I might just go crazy and expand it to 2000 colonists to try for the 200 vegan thing. I think ill have to leave it on accelerated with births on and just let it grow really big.

I had to expand it above 3,000 colonists, while holding back to get vegan applicants until the very last moment (but it was in my first playthrough years ago, base game only) ^^'

I'm going vanilla me too, and this is not going to change anytime soon : )
Rich-UK 10 月 29 日 下午 10:38
unfortunately i turned disasters off for that run so i will have to do some of the achievements in a different colony, like the underground struts and survive acid rains
kaki_gamet 10 月 29 日 下午 10:49
I see, I didn't think of that when I seen you were missing it. But looks a bit strange that also cave-ins are prevented, the description is still the old one. Anyway no need to go back to it if that playthrough is already done, there will be plenty of chances : )
Rich-UK 10 月 30 日 上午 7:15
yeah i have a bunch of other national sponsors to do yet and one is a 500% difficulty as russia so will have disasters on for that one
kaki_gamet 10 月 30 日 上午 7:37
You can do both Russia's ones in the same run, and the only game rule I had to use there was the one to restrict walking on foot if there are trains (because between sponsor, commander and the location itself, mountainous, got already high enough percentage) ^^'

I reached 200 vegans, about 2k colonists, I just hit 3x speed and built like mad, this was an easy colony and the breakthroughs were really good. I originally just wanted the USA sponsors the geoscape and research, but it went so well with the breakthroughs I thought I would just go ahead and nail some of the asteroid achievements and the vegan one. being able to capture asteroids helps a lot.

I like the diorama effect on those screenshots : D I also see you went to harvest almost everything, only one rare metal deposit and lots of water deposits left around : )

No underground?
Rich-UK 10 月 30 日 下午 11:24
nah i didnt have disasters on so i gave up on the underground, i did put lights around the tunnels and mine it a bit and started to build the wonders but when i realised there wasnt any cave ins i abandoned that

i got lucky and got the drone hub breakthrough and also got to unlock other sponsors unique buildings aswell as the capture asteroid thing.
