I was still in the opening stages of the game when a meteor made a direct hit on my dorm. I lost three crew members, my medic and both of my biologists! Game over.

I remembered reading that if you revert to a save file, you'll still get a meteor strike in the same spot. So after reverting, I recycled my dorm and built a new one some where else. A while later, bam!, the meteor hit, but this time doing no damage. Ha ha.
