A secret switcher like the regular blue switchers found in levels are hidden yellow switchers that allow you to play levels as some of the other characters. You have to kind of think outside of the box and try reaching places you haven't been before in levels to find them :)

Yeah I finished the first level with a kangaroo and still haven't got the secret switch reward.

This isnt true. The appeared to me after only completing the first chapter.

The secret switchers are yellow. And they SIGNIFICANTLY alter the way you play the level! The one on "the tip of my tongue" eluded me as well, Because youd think it was the kangaroo right? But it is indeed further into the level :) Pay attention to the background is all i'm going to say ;)

Well, I did start the thread by asking for a spoiler. Since no one bothered to give me the spoiler I requested, I might as well answer my own question.

No offense, Good Mood Creators. Both me and my daughter enjoy Mekazoo very much. Great visuals, great soundtrack, smart implementation of co-op system that encourages teamwork, balanced difficulty for both casual and hardcore players alike, and high replayability due to outstanding level design that allows multiple approach to different goals.

However, is it too much to say, "The secret switchers will only appear after you've unlocked the required animal associated with that specific switcher"? That would have been very helpful, you know, instead of all these "Shhh it's a secret!" attitude I'm getting from both developers and community alike. I spent nearly 2 hours and 20 restarts looking for the secret switcher on "On The Tip Of My Tongue" level, only to discover that it won't appear until I've unlocked the panda. What a total waste of time.

Nonetheless, I did not regret my purchase, and look forward to your next project, Good Mood Creators. Best wishes to the team, and good luck on your next project.

For me I felt that finding the secret switchers was something for me to go back to do near end game after getting all the characters. At least that's what I did personally. You can get pretty far into the game by doing the other objectives per level. I'd say probably getting as far as the end of world 4 maybe and by then you'll have most the characters to go back and get most of the secret switches.

@Zanzahar. Your insights will always help us improve what we do. We are glad you liked many aspects of mekazoo, but we are also happy to hear what frustrated you. We can only improve if we are willing to listen to critique. We did have plans to limit visibility of SS medals from the win screen until the SS was active but alas we ran short on time for another UI usability feature.
