I like the game but I'm colorblind and can't tell certain keys and doors apart.
Can you add a colorblind option that puts a pattern on the doors, or allows us to modify the colors?

Tooltips on the keys + doors that tell us what the colors are would be good enough, too.

Can I ask which colors you can't tell apart? Because there are red and blue gems, and the slimes look the same too if the colors are removed.

It's been too long since I played. There are lots of colors I can't tell apart. It is most likely green vs yellow.

That said, color blindness is different for different people and if you change it to fix *my* color blindness, it will ruin it for someone else. If you want to fix the problem, you need to do what I recommended earlier - make the colors customizable, or add a disambiguating texture pattern of some kind. Customizable is best.

I understand if it's too much work. I doubt this will make or break your game, so you probably shouldn't worry about it here. But maybe think about it for future projects. 8% of men are colorblind.

I have an idea for you, although I can't say how well it will work; Maybe you could use your graphics card control panel to change to color intensity in one of the 3 channels so that the screen has a tint.... Just be sure to record your settings in advance if they are something other than default.

Is there a reason that keys and doors can't have a tooltext like other items and foes? If you wanted to institute a color blind mode visually distinct shapes for pallete swapped items would probably be more ideal than changing the coloration of items.

You are right. Using different shapes is easier for both the developer and the color blind players. Tooltip on those items won't make it easier because you have to hover your mouse every time, but it's something worth adding.

Tool tips might not make it easier, but it would at least make it possible to know if you have a blue or red key in your inventory. Cool to see you respond to this thread so quickly, I hope you can patch in a fix. :)
