Steam launch error.

I played the game once fine but now every time i get a "SteamAPI_Init() failed" error. I tried exiting steam and reopening as an administrator but it still doesn't work. Any ideas?

My guess would be an issue with the Steam client.

"All files successfully validated."
Still doesn't work :(

You should be able to uninstall it and reinstall it and still keep your progress if you have Steam cloud enabled (which is enabled by default.)

Try this

Force the game back to factory defaults, number 6 here https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=7169-TIAV-5361
