Before the introduction of that infinite tier, the Rift would go up to Tier 200 and end there. And even before that, the Deep Rift was much shorter still with only like 85 tiers.
Once you reached the end, that was that. Nothing more to do or to gain.
The infinite tier makes it so that none of the XP gained in a match or from quests goes to waste. While 5k BP isn't much to write home about (I'd much rather see it become 25k at least), it still is a nice passive bonus for those who play the game a lot.
but if you go to the last page after u finish it, it says unlock infinite tier, you pay 100 auric cells per tier,
is this like an extra thing?
like the infinite tiers are already unlocked for you, and you get 5k bp for every 100 xp fragments you earn, but if for some weird reason you want 5k bp without playing, you can pay 100 auric cells to get those 5k bp?
Basically, it's the same as if you would spend Auric Cells to progress the Rift before reaching that point. Say, you are at Tier 70 and spend 5 bucks to buy a 500 Cell pack, and unlock 5 tiers with it. If you do that while on the infinite tier, you still gain those 5 levels and so 5 x 5000 BP.
There's nothing keeping you from doing that, but it would be a tragic waste of money. Since it's just 5k per tier, and you gain a multitude of that in a normal match without even bringing an offering.
it was just weird seeing it today and i was like really? 1$ for 5k bp?
