It works great and there's no way I'd go back to mouse & keyboard :-)
xpadder is actually illegal to use and you can get banned for using it with any game, secondly no controller support will ever be added to this game its simply too useless a feature as too many keybinds exist.
and the to many keybinds is total bs only thing i cant do with my pad is type:D
Anyway about controller, just think about left analog stick to simulate reeling and right stick to simulate pitching... there are some old fishing games for console that give this option and it's so immersive.
This is absolutly 100% untrue information...failtroll post...
xpadder is NOT illegal by any means at all what so ever!! It is actually decend software for custom mapping controls in games that dont allow it.
However its use MAY be prohibited in same games..typicaly competative games or ones that dont allow macro type software.
Dev have stated they do intend on adding controler support at some point down the road...however I dont think its very high on the current punch list so to speak.
The 2 current solutions I can think of would be use something like the aforementioned f310 gamepad...or better yet go get a Steam Controller..was damn near made for this game it seems =)
(I mean without any additional software).
Yes it does...and tbh its by far my favorite controler for pc games I have ever owned. It does take a bit of gettign used to though, but well worth it imo. The gyro function is alot of fun, in fact other than setting drag and reel speed I can fish with JUST the 2 triggers and the gyro!
Have yet to find a game in my 150+ library that this controller wont work for.
Not sure if it works with PS4 gamepad.....will windows see it pluged in?? if windows can 'see' it then current build of xpadder will work for it.
Just tapping the "set hook" button moves the lure a lot harder than I would like in many situations. Moving the pole with mouse style movements can be a bit jerky and it also moves the camera. Adding the ability to easily slightly twitch the lure would add a lot of possibility to retrieval techniques.
Have you played around with the gyro function? If ya tweek it just right and set to mouse input it works wonders for landing and fighting fish. Granted it still moves the camera, but with the gyro+mouse input on the left pad you can get really percise subtle movements, or strong fast pulls will the acceleration feature.
