RPG is a very loose term, and I dont know what you define as roleplaying
Havent tried cube world, but my game is far uglier :P
2. Getting Gear, getting Exp and using it to upgrade your character, fighting various types of Mobs for said Gear and Exp...
3. Haha, maybe. Well, that game is basically dead, so, here is your chance!
The game is supposed to work as a drop in and have fun, party game, we will only have side-grading.
Oh, didn't know that, I thought it wasnt even released yet. I hope they keep working on it, very inspiring game :)
2. These concepts are quite fun for a while but does not scale very well over time. What we'd like to try is to make the game fun enough on it's own to not need those game-play mechanics you mentioned - because then if you enjoy the game, you will hopefully not grow tired of it so quickly. Again that said, progression is very important and you do gather loot/coins that just stacks forever. Although not thoroughly discussed yet, we might want to add some collectables and or achievements to allow players to have some concrete goals as an incentive to play.
3. Cube World had wonderful animations and a wonderful scenery. I didn't really like their combat mechanics or the scaling of the game though. Given that we have a kinda similar art-style and a character which can kill mobs, I guess you're right in that we could attract some players. Did you like Cube World? If so, what part(s) of it would you like us to draw inspiration from? :)
Again, I hope that Online comes as soon as possible.
Not sure about not having a classic RPG progression system, but, fair game, you're vision and your reasoning.
I have not played Cube World myself, only watched it. Indeed, visually, if anything, it was quite spectacular.
I will say that I liked the whole open-world aspect of it - walking around, exploring, interacting with mobs...
and you've done all there is to do.
well Lootfest's buildinging function is just a side thing. there no garuntee its in the final game
for the love that all is holy, dont go any further than online co-op
'just what this game needs! 16 players on one server killing each other! hy-UK!'
i really dont want to see a great single/co-op game become a huge MMO ;-;
Can't take Devs like that seriously.
Not every game has to have building!
It lacks content overall, yes. Depth, as it were.
4-8-12-16 would be fine limits. 4 at the minimum of course!
I DENY YOU SIR! 4 at MAXIMUM!
