Continents will put you on an island with one other faction.
Pangaea everyone is on the same landmass to start.
These options do not effect the size of the world, just the starting layout.
This will give you about 15-20 turns before the first water recedes so you can get your footing.
Even with Archipelago I have spawned with another faction on my island several times, I know it's not intended though, just another bug.
C'est assez frustrant, et ça arrive même sur les plus grandes cartes avec peu de factions en jeu
Well i'm gonna try this tonight then, thanks for the tip
PS : Si un dev passe ou un CM, vous pouvez faire remonter l'information quand même svp ? :3 Et regarder pour ajouter des fonctionnalités de paramétrages de parties :D
Most of my games have been on large archipelago because that feels more natural considering tidefalls etc. Even on continents It was at least turn 50 before I ran into anyone and that was mainly due to the Aspects shotgunning emissaries all over the map.
Will try Archipelago huge with all unique AI factions and hope everyone has their own capital on an island to allow for a grand campaign.
Would be nice for a setting, to use the tide as a separation and allow all players that first few turn to setup before the tide then opens up and you meet other AI.
@Cythal : I tried, the ennemy seems to spawn more far than in Continents :)
Noted the fact that you spawn too close!
