Theres a great game in here, but I cant see it...
Literally. With an oversaturation of detail, with everything so well modeled, the map, ironically, doesnt work at all. Cant see borders, town improvements, curiosities vs anomalies, even units vs camps. Everything, and I mean everything, has to be analyzed/explored with tooltip after tooltip. The zoom out key is on a hotkey and literally I am using it every move for every unit.
Thoreau on Walden pond said "simplify, simplify, simpl ify...."
Anyone else have any thoughts? Am I just slow...

There's certainly a lot of visual "clutter" that you have to get used to filtering out. It's an information heavy game mixed with a lot of unique visual details due to the nature of the setting so I think feeling this way is normal. But after playing for some time you get used to reading the screen. I do wish the UI/UX got a revision though.

Yes, agreed. Also, on battles, it is very difficult to distinguish enemy units from yours.

One change I would suggest is changing the icons for districts on the map screen. Instead of having faction specific icons that no one can distinguish, make them for every faction the same and make them more distinguishable.

I would suggest putting the appropriate FIDSI icon on top (green grain for farms, orange gear for works and so on). That would make it easier to see what districts I have already built and plan my city better.

Choose a colour for your civ (like purple or pink) that doesn't have similar colours then it will be much clearer.

Better border lines would be an easy and instant improvement. I want to settle a province, so have to see the borders...well, you look for that white dotted line on the campaign map, where is it? Then you zoom out....and still have to find and trace the line ....
