How are you going to put your dlc on for sale when it no longer works?

I've been seeing posts recently about having this issue with Arma 2 on steam, and I wanted to make a post as after some messing around and tweaking, I was able to come to a fix myself that works. Firstly, this issue stems from an issue with steam writing to the registry, and affects OA in particular which in turn makes it so the expansions also cannot be installed correctly.
