1. Steam's DRM itself is prone to get assaulted by some malware detection programs sometimes and as Cossacks 3 uses it, we may have been hit as well.
2. Our game runs in a somewhat unique way: the game is not as attached to the engine as most of the other games, because most of the "game" itself, what you see on your screen when you launch it, comes from "Data" folder - the place where all game scripts are stored. When you launch the game, our engine starts compiling all those scripts into code, so that your CPU will know what to do with all of those game files. This process of self-generating code is somewhat similar to the way certain malware programs operate, so your anti-virus (in this case, Norton) launches a preemptive strike on our .exe file.
For those that still have doubts - here's a link to VirusTotal[www.virustotal.com]. Only 4 out of 55 anti-viruses have problems with our executable file and they all label it with different names, which proves my point above.
Cossacks 3 is almost 5 months old and we've been watching over it daily. It's our utmost priority to not only bring you the best possible gaming experience we can provide, but to do it in the most secure way as well.
Hope this will clear up the situation at least a little bit :)
