This is pretty much my all-time favourite RPG. The combat is awesome and the story-line is fine. Mereg is a literal beast. I've been playing it since I was a kid.

As some other reviews state: Whoever is responsible for this "Remaster" should be ashamed of themselves.

It has like a 70% chance of crashing after every battle if you skip past the loot / exp distribution too quickly. The graphics are literally 1:1, and due to the change in aspect ratio, none of the skill cutscenes fit the whole screen and it looks JANK and off-centre. They couldn't even centre the video so it fits properly.

There is no extra voice acting. The actual cutscenes are a blotchy mess and absolutely not remastered in any way shape or form.

The only real change that I've actually noticed is that the controller buttons actually make sense. The original PC port did not have this and only showed the Dreamcast buttons.

What the original PC port DID have was: A working game that you could play from start to finish without crashing, with skills that actually fit the screen. You're better off gaining access to the Ps2 version. I paid $7 for the original PC port back 20 something years ago.

I've played through this god-forsaken remaster twice and it's so disappointing. The first time I played it, they didn't even have the cutscenes working. At-least that was fixed.

Only buy it if it's like 90% off.
Overall a massive disservice to an amazing game.

Nostgalic gameplay still one of the best RPG back on the day
