Game Won't Start
Hi Guys,

So I am currently having an issue with the game not even starting. No load screen, no error messages. Steam shows the game as running for a few seconds then it doesn't. I've tried running the game in normal and DX10 modes, but to teh same effect.

Can anyone suggest how I can sort this?

If you go into the games folder and start the game through the exe instead of through steam you should get an error message most likely. Please let us know what that says and we'll try to fix it.

looks like it was unconnected. missing a .dll file for C++. thanks for the speedy response, you at least managed to help me find the problem!

Same problem that I'm having. Was / is there a fix for this? Seems I am also missing a .dll file.

You need to install the vc++ redistributables 2015 I think. You can find it on Microsoft website but it should be bundled in the game too. Check the install folder.

You might need to uninstall previous mentions of this in the Add/remove programs thing in windows. Otherwise I'd Google it. The vc++ is a windows thing and not something related to Solus unfortunately.

yeah I understand that. Got it running on my laptop, just want it on the PC I'm borrowin ha ha

I have same problem and it drives me NUTS since I've been trying to fix everything for 8 hours already. I already have SP1, I uninstalled and installed redist but it just doesn't fix anything. Never has Microsoft made me that angry.

My best guess is that you have a bunch of outstanding windows updates that are holding you back. Because let's face it we don't like windows to auto update stuff and don't care to do it ourselves most of the time. :D

I'm also having this problem.... really annoying.Atleast steam has the ability to refund a game

i click new game and it doesnt do anything ,i go back to the menu ??

also search for anything in the solus forums related to visualc++2015 redist (microsoft bug is why the game wont start)
fix windows bug then solus will run= its a really cool game too:albedothumbsup:

i went to the install dir and ran the .exe and it notified me of a missing install package of vc++ 2013, After installing this (In which it asked if i wanted to download it now with the error message) the game starting running fine.

ANSWER: Go to steamapps\common\TheSolusProject\Engine\Extras\Redist\en-us
Run UE4PrereqSetup_x64.exe
This puts those missing packages on, bit crappy that the launcher doesn't check first for these and offer to install.
