I was hoping to play Solus tonight and when I attempted to load my game I abruptly experienced the start of a new game. I restarted the game and my save games were gone.
After poking around for a while I see that this has been a problem for a while. I get that infrequently occurring and bizarre bugs aren't easy to fix and may never get fixed.
To better support your customers, could you please implement an automatic copy+overwirte of the save files to a backup directory. This should just be a few lines of code for you guys and would remove the responsibility for backing up save files from us. If you're really feeling the love, maybe you could even implement a restore utility accessible through the games menu system.
If it helps, here's a little information about my computer environment. The computer is solely used for VR and, for the past two weeks, has been almost exclusively been used to play Solus. I've been enjoying the benefits of the recent patch (mostly the improved support for the Vive) and the loss of my save files does not coincide with that update. When I looked for Solus save files with Windows Explorer they were gone. If you would like more information let me know, I would be happy to help out.
Your team has put together a great game and I would hate to see the game or you get a poor reputation over a bug that has such a simple work around.
Thank you for you efforts,
Dale
Have you found a way to fix it?
