You actually don't have to restart but can salvage this by console cheats.
So, press F8 to bring up console, and type
solgod
this activated god mode, since you are falling at terminal velocity. then type:
solteleport X
where X is actually a number between maybe 1 and 10 or so. those are actually places on the map, 1 being early on in the level, 10 being by the end usually. Say you are in the middle of the level, solteleport 5 might be a good suggestion.
once you are moved there, type solgod again to turn off god mode.
When you mention that I am too far away from center of playspace I am assuming you mean something to do with VR causing this displacement. However, this isn't while walking away and coming back to the game. I tried saving and then immediately loading the save knowing that this happened to me twice before. So its not like I restarted the game or moved (I'm playing from a sitting position).
Anyway, just mentioning that in case it helps you guys debug anything.
Is there any way to know how far along i am in order to know what number I should use? I suppose I can just start lower and go up until I find the right spot.
There is a reset button, currently down on left trackpad, will be changed though soon. The reset button should reset the view when pushed.
Just guessing now, but maybe when seated the player capsule is clipping slightly through the game floor and when loaded you fall through the world.
Will investigate.
Anyway, yes, starting low and going up would be the best approach probably, so that you wont spoil anything.
Haven't had time to test just yet but hopefully within the next day or so.
But the cheat worked well enough. I had to redo some of my play but not too bad.
I tried saving and reloading a number of times after and things were working properly.
I might as well mention in this thread since you added a couple of options in the main menu for VR controller support. Unfortunately the game started in VR touch controller by default. Not good because I couldn't navagate the menus at all. Well I could sort of. Anytime I tried to move to a menu item it would bounch back to the middle because some non-existent controller was pointing straight ahead. I just kept trying and trying moving the menu and attempting to hit A on the gamepad to turn it off. After a few minutes of trying I got it.
Also, I was so hoping that the option to NOT follow your head direction would also work with gamepad movement. I really dislike that when moving forward the motion will proceed to where you are looking. I would rather movement be based on my gamepad inputs and be completely separate to where I am looking. In otherwords I would like to walk straight ahead but be looking to the right. This is not possible as far as I could figure out with a gamepad.
Overall, I'm loving the game. Great job!
