Thank you for proving me right
And this not a good start. So frankly I don't exactly trust Aspyr regardless. The only thing is I have to remind myself they did make the Tomb Raider and Soul Reaver remasters, but it doesn't look like Deus Ex is getting that same level of care. We'll see when it releases.
Blood Remaster was decent. Not sure if the second remaster will be better.
The Thing remastered got quality of life+better lighting.
Turok 1 likely got a mild touch and runs even on very weak PCs.
They even patched Turok 1 10 years after the release to their more Recent Kex Engine, so it no longer has the 60fps cap.
Turok 2 has a few game mods like arena fights againts Enemies.
Both Turok 1 and 2 have slight map changes and added hardcore difficulty, not in OG.
Turok 2's difficulty also affects enemy spawns slightly differently.
Minor quality of life options Eg, Turok 1,2 fog can be OG or new extended.
Many renderer options.
Turok 2 enemy corpses now stay, and blood can stay on the wall so many basic stuff added over the OG.
So a ton of optional stuff has been added to most remasters.
Quake remasters were also well done and got a new episode.
Hexen Heretic, a Recent release, also got optional stuff and new episodes.
It was free for those who owned the OG.
Optional stuff eg. you can now parry with the Cleric you can change classes so easier to try them all out.
Reworked maps, secrets if you use the optional enhanced maps.
If not, you can play the old versions.
Most of Nightdive remasters are highly rated cause they are good, but yes, they do not improve GFX that much but also do not ask for an RTX 2080 as a recommended GPU.
Nightdive did 1 remake only, which is the System Shock 1 remake from 2023, kinda faithful to the OG in many things.
unique art style, not everyone loved, also had low system requirements.
That said the remake got delayed many years.
Of course, if Deus Ex remasters turns out to be high quality, I would be happy.
It just seems like very poor quality, including some buttons not even rendering as they should, likely someone AI upscaled them without a thought......
If you want the OG game, play the OG game.
Then there's free mods/source ports/total convos.
If you think some remaster/remake sucks, don't buy it.
But also if it's not so good
But look at this lazy ai cashgrab abomination, this makes the fan mods look like magnificent works of art.
The trailer for this trash is the greatest advert I've ever seen for Nightdive to remaster a game.
