Feature Updates:

• Fill-in-the-blank puzzles will now check for alternate solutions!

  • Alternate solutions are on a per section basis, as in the group of blanks that are checked together

  • Alternate solutions are reserved for situations where keywords are logically interchangeable

  • Alternate solutions don't redefine the relevancy/subject of the puzzle - just because it makes sense, doesn't mean it's relevant to solving the puzzle

  • In some cases, sections will not have an alternate solution, because they wouldn't make sense grammatical, or contextually

  • In some cases, puzzle sections have been redefined (usually splitting a long section into two smaller sections) which should improve clarity, or at least make deducing the solution easier

  • Puzzles won't check for alternate solutions until every keyword necessary for the intended solution is found (to prevent sequence breaking - sorry speedrunners)

  • Illustrations which serve as hints on puzzle pages have not changed, but probably will in a future patch (Sorry, everything else took longer than I wanted, so I put this one off)

  • The tutorial does not include any alternate solutions

  • There are no additional endings, as alternate endings were already pretty flexible

  • I took great care to make sure that this overhaul will still work with previous save games, so no one should have to restart their playthrough to work on this update

  • This also includes lots of things that no one will notice, but improves performance

• Two new achievements!

  • One of them is to find an alternate solution for any section of any puzzle - you don't need to solve the entire puzzle to unlock this one, just turn a section green with an alternate solution.

  • The other one is pretty simple - click the pen on the puzzle menu nine times. I figured, why not?

Bug Fixes:

• The backend system that manages opening, closing, and selecting various elements of the menus has also been overhauled.

  • It took as much work as the puzzle overhaul, but it's not as fun or interesting. Nothing should feel too different in most situations, but should prevent some rarer cases of deselection bugs

  • It is possible that if you open/close menus too quickly, it will appear as if selection has been lost, but in those cases, tabbing a page (like in the puzzle or profile menu) should fix it without needing to close and relaunch the game, as it did before

  • I'll be continuing to monitor this for issues that I couldn't test for, but it should be more surefire than how the previous system was built

• Fixed an issue where, if done in a specific order, a certain lead (Financial Fiasco) would display too many pieces of information, leaving one not visible

• More typos, but there's probably more... I think they might have a mind of their own...
