Also it is totally optionnal as you can get match in a nigtmare game as you look for a casual one...
Chalk it up to lore all you want it makes for a horrible video game. Remember when we started?: Rng perks for your rng character that will play on an rng map with a rng difficulty! Sounds like a great time right? Player count during that time was almost the same it is now (~100 or less).
The thing that made the first game do well is that it had the freedom to choose what you wanted to play, with what modes/mods/maps at will. Most servers that did well had !rtv purposely to skip maps that were played too much or were just bad maps.
they´re still being forced into hard or nightmare matches. Basicly proving that a huge majority of the remaining players find this game a bit to easy.
Yeah, thats why this game never stood a chance as a commercialized product to begin with. Because if they ported the valve gamer experience over they wouldn't make as much $$$ with dlc or centralized content streams...one of the reasons why I disown people that think working within the for profit model will fix the core issues.
All while TB flags itself as community based feedback, whilst conveniently ignoring all of the NMRIH fan base that would have wanted mods, zombie children, and fully selectable maps and difficulty.
all i know is being unable to pick map/difficulty is one of the main reasons i dont even try to play this game anymore. Nothing like being thrown into the same map 100x in a row on a difficulty thats too easy for you.
Like i said, big brain devs killing the game with so many poor design choices. Rng rng rng! open world! Rpg mechanics! QUICKPLAYYYYYYYYYY! And forget everything that made the first game good.
Whats worse is we the community have given feedback to which the devs respond in the worst possible way, not addressing the issue but instead trying a work around that kind of but not really fixes it. Still cant retire/K responder from main menu, still cant pick difficulty, map, region, etc.
Having only 1 que would exacerbate these issues so that the game experience is as inconvenient as possible to the player, and the player has no choice whatsoever in how they want to play; leading to a further decline (or in this case, flatline) of the playerbase.
