Intel HD, HD 3000, HD 4000 users
Here are some notes if you have an Intel HD chipset, to help you run Rebel Galaxy properly (and you SHOULD be able to).

First! If you have a nice laptop that has 2 GPUs, in order to conserve battery life, your Intel GPU may be being used instead of your snazzy powerful mobile NVidia chipset, or what have you.
Usually your driver properties will allow you to whitelist games to use the 'nice' chipset. You want to do this! If Rebel Galaxy isn't running nice on your sweet laptop, you will want to check this out.

Intel HD 4000 - this chipset properly supports DX11 (for the most part), so you should be OK to use the DX11 renderer

Intel HD 3000 - this chipset does NOT support DX11 - you'll want to use the DX9 renderer

Intel HD - this chipset does NOT support DX11 - you'll want to use the DX9 renderer

A note on DX9 vs DX11 - there is NO real visual difference between the two. You won't be missing out on anything. We kept the DX9 renderer around to ensure we could support older chipsets, so it's just doing its' job if that's what you need to select.

Lighting?
travis 2015 年 10 月 13 日 下午 9:32
Hmm, I'm not sure what the question is? It should support every effect available, including dynamic lighting - although what model of Intel HD you have, your game resolution, and how high you crank the effect resolution will have an impact on how it'll run.

I think they're wondering if you can use lightning to recharge your laptop battery :)

This is good to know. I might disable my discrete GPU and run it on my iGPU for giggles (when it finally releases into my hands! mwhaha :( )

So what is the diffference then between dx11 and 9.. i mean some aspects must be used of dx11 or else you'd only use dx9 anyway.

The DX11 renderer was created because you gotta keep pushing forward, or you lose driver support. Also, XBox one is DX11, so it already had to be done...

What about AMD users or will there be no huge difference?
travis 2015 年 10 月 14 日 下午 7:35
It really does depend on the specifics, but the game is pretty scalable. Lots of things to turn off/down individually, and various different effect target sizes. I wish I could give you some precise performance number, but there are a lot of factors.
At any rate, we've done our best to support a wide range of rigs.

Understandable. Im sure I'll be able to play it. i just thought I'd ask. Can't wait to play your awesome game.

Since the System Requirements page also mentions Mac support (thank you!) it's worth noting that you can easily turn off the GPU switching in the Energy Saver options in System Preferences.

I'm an HD 3000 user. Whenever I go into the "AI Targeting selection" rotary tool, the game freezes and CTD's. Please help.
travis 2015 年 10 月 20 日 上午 11:24
Are you using the DX9 renderer, or DX11?
AMURKA 2015 年 10 月 20 日 下午 12:10
Dx9, of course.

Very odd - I have one other HD3000 user I've tested with so I know that part 'normally' works for HD3000 users.

Do you have a Lenovo laptop? Also, which OS do you have? 7, 8, or 10? I believe there are some much newer drivers for the HD3000, but I'm not sure what you have.

If you can run dxdiag.exe and do a 'save all information' and email it to me at travisbaldree@gmail.com I'll see what I can see.

I have an Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T9400 @ 2.53GHz but CANYOURUNIT says that it wont run your game which requires an Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz, AMD Athlon X2 2.8 GHz, or higher. Can you confirm this? Thank you.

Win 7 HD 3000 user here with a Nvidia GT 525M chip onboard. Game runs fine, graphics look great, but there's a problem with all the text in the menus, loading screens, dialogue, etc being blurry or low-res looking. Running DX9, Full screen but tried a combination of different options (DX11 and OpenGL crash) with it and no luck. Intel and Nvidia drivers are latest. Any ideas?
