Map and Hud Stop Showing

For the third time now I open the map in a game and the map animation start and all but the map is like invisible?!? No more hud in fact...maybe someone stole the ship screen lol? Well that's 30 hours down the drain unless anyone knows a way to bring it back???

Read somewhere that returning to ship via the menu was causing that but in this game I've always walked back...

so please if anyone knows a fix?

Walk back to the ship, press the button, but dont move.
If you press the button and walk into the cockpit it screws with the animations as well.
That's what worked for me at least.
