Mission editer surface recognition
I was just trying to make a gameball corse on a balcony to the right of the highway which has an E-cop drone spawner. The railing of the balcony is an easy way of grinding away from the E-cop camera so I tried to but a Quad-bot on top of the railing, but the game wouldn't let me. The Quad-bot went straight through and wasn't tall enough to hit the grinding player.

Hello DeGugs,

Though I'm not sure exactly what the suggestion is, I can tell you that Quadbots aren't the most effective obstacles. Scanning them and running through them rewards one point, which can break most custom games.

If that doesn't concern you, a great fix for this issue would be increasing the Y Axis coordinate in the mission's .XML file(AppData/LocalLow/FustyGame/Hover/Missions), for your Quadbot object itself. You can adjust this to the height of the surface it's not detecting, or even way into the air.

Hope this helps,
Omni

In gameball? Damnit! I am looking for a small hinderance to slow down the player that takes "the safe route," I thought about using walls but they always look so awkward and break up the pacing. Got any alternatives?

Sure, a nice alternative would be a backward facing "Bumper" object, again this would have to be shifted and rotated manually in the XML files, but they do not award points. The Booster object might also serve you well, as it's a bit bigger of a surface and can be used as a hazardous wall(When rotated 90 degrees on the Y Axis).

Exuse me, where is this directory you speak of? I can't seem to find it in the files of the game or the workshop tool.

You can find the directory quickly by typing "%appdata%" into your Run Command Window. Sometimes it will take you to Roaming, rather than AppData, so just back-up one folder in your explorer to reach AppData from Roaming.

The Workshop Tool is located in the Library Tab, in the Tools sections. Locate "Hover Workshop Tool" and download it. It cannot be ran while Hover is running.

Hope this helps!

Ok, I found the file, I have moved on from the quad bot idea but need to move a ball limit wall instead. I have it placed vertically but I need it to move horrizontally closer into the field. The coding for the object is as follows:

<start_position>
<x>-260.233215</x>
<y>-69.8508759</y>
<z>-239.150116</z>
</start_position>
<eulerAngle>
<x>0</x>
<y>6.830189E-06</y>
<z>0</z>
</eulerAngle>
<ressource_path>Prefabs/MissionObject/Mission_BallLimit</ressource_path>
<team>0</team>
</MissionObjectInfos>
</mission_objects_infos>
</MissionContener>

Which of these dimensions do I change?

This is where it gets tricky as movement can vary depending on rotations and world position. Just adjust the X and Z coordinates slightly until you see movement in the direction you like, then take of note of which coordinate moved in that direction, and determine if you need to add or subtract to coordinate. I'm afraid that's all the help I can offer, but perhaps some research on coordinate editing might clear up some confusion for you.

Cheers,

Thanks for your help, while I've got you I've had this bug for quite a while. Check out the description in the discussion: "liff won't leave"
