I would much prefer to import a character I made from Photoshop into Facerig though - I prefer the software and it has better functionality.
Yes, you are right you can make your character in Photoshop and after splitting it in layers in a certain way you can animate it while within After Effects.
If you want to use FaceRig for this, you will have to import your .psd file into Live2D editor and set ranges, key frames. This enables you to easily animate the avatar with a higher degree of fidelity.You can choose which method suits you best and there are tutorials on the internet for each process.
On a side note: PSD files can also be created by other draw/paint software like Clip Studio Paint. So you have a lot of freedom on how you want to achieve this :). But Pphotoshop is definitely supported for Live2D avatar creation, see the above linked tutorials :).
Excellent!! I already own the entire Creative Cloud suite so this makes me very happy. Although the After Effects animation is .. ok. I much prefer FaceRig's tracking and functionality.
Being able to create using photoshop then import into FaceRig via Live2D makes me a very happy person.

I looked in the instal folder. I can't find it. Where does it get installed to? Would be nice if that was listed in this posting...
