this isnt going to stop the devs from making a linux version though is it?
The external render engine that the current FaceRig was built on was initially supposed to be ported beyond Windows but, sadly, it never happened, that's why FaceRig mobile runs on Unity and that's why the upcoming FaceRig SDK has its own in-house render engine.
More details will be unveiled soon™.
I'm interested to knowing what Facerig has in store for the future. I assume since you mentioned it has its own render engine... this Facerig SDK is not like some sort of a plugin to any existing engine like Unity or Unreal is it?
Same here, except I work in a devops position supporting builds/programmers. Pretty sure I can beta test effectively as well. Let's see this happen! Not to mention how this might open things up to business-to-business and other licensing opportunities where it can have a chance to compete with more expensive offerings, if it's on a workplace operating system like Linux.
Releasing whatever software (including SDK) you can as open source and cross platform will be appreciated greatly. The Linux community can certainly benefit from this sort of software with comprehensive features and FaceRig would have the chance to be among the first on the scene!
We're still working on the platform-agnostic SDK (read my post from 29th of August, just above a few posts from this one).
Would it help at all If I show you the entire process from attempt to install to both ways of trying to launch the program?
Necro'ing this one because it was a top result on Google for "facerig + Linux"
Any update on getting it to work via Proton or Wine?
