In all honesty kinda agree with him.
The post you are referring to is in relation to the Unity editor, not in relation to the Linux port of the engine.
Linux support has been in Unity for years now and 100's of games make use of Unity's Linux exporter. (A good portion of the current 1600+ linux games are Unity).
I am also vouching for a Linux version, since I only buy games that run on my operating system of choice these days.
I supported Unknown Worlds when they released NS2 for Linux and hope I can do the same with Subnautica (which i currently experience through Ridgedog's livestreams)
