I had the same problem. If you wait long enough eventually a coffee cup appears in the bottom right corner and it will actually load.

Unfortunately, every time I left one scene and it had to load another, it would take just as long. Approximately 30-40 seconds to load.

I'm sure there is some setting that probably fixes it, but I have no idea what it is. I just played through at a snails pace.

I have the same problem and the screen always stays black.
