Why does the scanner on the construction site immediately display the inventory when I scan something?

If I already have one item in stock, that could also be seen on the construction site. Then you could decide whether to take the item or not.

That would greatly enhance the gameplay.

And I wouldn't have to create an MS Excel spreadsheet to keep track of what I have in stock.
