Odyssey to the save file
Okay, so I've been playing this game offline for a while, I almost made it to the end (I think I was actually facing the ending). Today, I went back online and started the game. New game, no continue option.
Anyone else had this problem?

Nah but when I bought the game on PC I was able to find a PC game save file from some website (was year or two ago) that was in my rough position in the game so I didn't have to restart. Check that out

Easier (and potentially safer) answer: go offline again. I was in almost exactly your situation a week-and-1/2 half ago, OP, only with the online/offline situation reversed. Once I went back online, my saves were back.
